About this piece
This flash piece is inspired by Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist, focusing on his calm, calculated personality and his signature Flame Alchemy. I wanted the portrait to capture Mustang right before using his ignition gloves, with his hand positioned for the iconic snap and the transmutation symbol visible on the glove. The dark military uniform, glowing orange and yellow details, and purple background effects give the design a dramatic look while keeping the focus on the character and his alchemy. I’d like this piece to be done rather large and take up a good portion of whichever body part we choose. The larger size will give the portrait, hand, transmutation symbol, uniform, and smaller graphic details enough room to stay clean and readable while allowing the overall composition to make a bigger impact.
