About this piece
This flash piece is inspired by Edward and Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, combining the brothers with one of Alphonse’s softer traits—his love for cats. I wanted the design to balance the massive, intimidating look of Alphonse’s armor with a more playful scene, featuring Edward perched on top and a couple of cats hanging out with Alphonse. The mostly black and grey armor makes the warm colors of Edward and the cats stand out, while the blue background adds contrast and keeps the composition feeling energetic. I’d like this piece to be done rather large and take up a good portion of whichever body part we choose. The larger size will give Alphonse’s armor, Edward, the cats, and all of the smaller details enough room to stay clean and readable while allowing the overall composition to make a bigger impact.
